Chapter XV — The Sceptic
I once held myself to be a sceptic, and I am a sceptic still — sceptical of every conclusion not founded on evidence. It was evidence, patiently weighed, which convinced me of the reality of survival.

Arthur Findlay (1883–1964) — author, businessman and ardent Spiritualist — bequeathed his beloved home, Stansted Hall in Essex, to the Spiritualists' National Union. Today it serves as the Arthur Findlay College, a world-renowned centre for the study of psychic and spiritual sciences, carrying his philosophy forward for generations.
You do not need to be a member to attend our events and services. Whether you are curious, grieving, searching, or simply drawn to explore — come and share in the love, light, and uplifting energy of our community.
As a proud member of the Spiritualists' National Union (SNU) and a registered charity, we thrive on connection, community, and spirit.
